CPS #233...surprise!

Hey ya'll!! And you will be surprised because I used stamps from PTI!! and not my beloved Gina K Stamps! ...I love sunflowers and when I saw the little mini set I had to get it...I can never have enough sunflower stamps!! :D Here is my card for the sketch over on The CPS Blog:

I used some of the packing stuff that came with some cardstock from PTI, the corrugated stuff there and painted it with white craft paint, did some distressing with inks and my scissors, sprayed the card base with some glimmer mist too. I probably kinda stretched the sketch a bit, but my papers just did not want to cooperate with me...wasted a whole sheet of dp tyring to get it like I wanted and then STILL didn't, lol! Here is the sketch:

Soo, hope it was a nice surprise, lol! That's all for now. I have been challenging myself lately with sketch challenges...they always seem the hardest for me to follow for some reason....what's a 'challenge' for you?

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderfully creative week!!

Sketch challenges....

Hey Ya'll!! I got a minute this Saturday morning while Blake is out of my 'junk room'...as he calls it (my craft room is what I call it, lol!) So thought I'd post this card I got done yesterday. It's for a sketch challenge over on the Moxie Fab World and this one is for the 'Shaped Sketch Challenge'...Here is my card:

This is the sketch:

I didnt do a circle shape, instead used some Spellbinders label dies and made mine with that. I might be stretching this sketch a bit, lol. I always have a hard time doing sketch challenges, but do like to do them, they just are truly a 'challenge' for me, lol!

Ok, that's all for now. Off to help put up a tent in the backyard....according to Blake, my grandson, we are sleeping in it tonight....yea...umm...I'll let you know how that one goes, hahaha! Have a wonderfully creative weekend!

Tuesday Trigger, -- Girly and Gutsy...TWO cards!!

Hey Ya'll!! I am playing along in the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World Blog again...always love the Tuesday Triggers there! And again, I have made two cards, LOL! I wasn't real crazy about the first one I did, so did another...First one made was this one:

I don't like how the image is just kinda ...blah...needs something else I believe..I do like the lower half of the card, and that was made by using one of the older CB dies and gluing them on...but see the little open space? THAT bugs me, LOL! Oh yea, I could pick apart every single one of my cards, haha! Ok, sooo, decided to try another ...and here is card #2:

I used a dp for the bottom of this one, to mimic the floor in the picture. My pink ribbon, well, I was out of it and only had this small scrap left of it that matches the pink cardstock, so couldn't tie a bow like I wanted to, lol! But of the two, this card is my favorite! :D Oh, here is the inspiration pic too so you can see where that yellow color comes from! LOL! I didn't think I would like trying to put that color in there, but I do like what it adds to it after getting it all together!

Ok, that's all for now! I got my grandson, Blake coming tomorrow evening and staying for the weekend so won't have much computer time with him around! But I just love him being here. He told him Mama..."I want to stay FIVE days then you can come get me" ...he's trying so hard to understand the concept of time...like days, hours, and such, LOL! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderfully creative weekend coming up!

Thankful for Hope

Hey ya'll!! And happy Monday to you! I made this card for the Sketch challenge over on the CPS Blog #232, this week. Here it is:

I colored the image with copics (after seeing my fellow Gina K DT, Sharon Harnist's creation) (which mine isnt anything CLOSE to her copic coloring!! LOL) on an ATC size canvas that I found at Michael's a couple of weeks ago...they had all kinda ATC sized embellies too over by the big size canvases...I picked up alot of it because they had bunches of it on clearance...I can't pass up good deals, LOL!

As I was making this, I got to thinking what I am So Thankful for today...which everyday, I try to think of at least ONE thing I am thankful for that day...and today, the first thing that popped into my head was the word 'Hope'....I am so very thankful that we have that...HOPE...it can apply to so many things!! Just think about it! :D Ok, enough deep thoughts for the day, LOL!!

That's all for today! I'm sure I'll be back later in the week with another creation for ya! HOPE to see you back here too! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Monochromatic card...it's not easy being green...

I made this card for the Monochromatic challenge over on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog this week. And every since I started doing this green card, that darn Kermit the Frog song has been stuck in my head!! MAJOR tune wedgie! LOL! I do love monochromatic cards though, takes the hard part of deciding what colors go together out of the equation, haha! Here is my card:

I didn't really color, but used inks in green tones and cardstock, so think this will still qualify....The scallop is cut out of clear acetate and then I put a bit of white stayz on ink on the edges to bring it out more. The yo-yo out of material I purchased at Michaels back in the material section. They had fat quarter squares and these little matching yo-yos already done up so I didnt have to do them myself, LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today...TGIF!! And hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Gina K's Design Team Challenge and Hop for August!

Hey Ya'll! Welcome to our monthly DT hop and challenge for Gina K Designs! If you have arrived from Donna Baker's Blog, then you are in the right spot!! If not make sure to head over to StampTV where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop.

The name for this month's hop is Double Take....we had to use same stamps, papers, embellishments, etc...and make two different cards with those things. And let me tell ya...I really struggled with it for some unknown reason, lol! I was all whiny and figured I would have to just bow out....but I FINALLY got it done! LOL! Here are my creations...I like the first one, not crazy about the 2nd one though:

And the 2nd card:

Both insides have this:

At first I was thinking to do a CAS card and then one more loaded with stuff, but then it wouldnt have been using the same things...so that wouldnt have counted! Soooo, they are both very much alike, IMO, lol! And I believe we were to make two very different ones...oh well...ummm..oops? LOL!

Ok, next, head on over to the oh so talented Carolina Buchting's Blog and see what she has for you today!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderfully creative day!

Another one of those cards...

....that start out as something else, for a challenge, and ends up going a totally different direction!! LOL! Hey ya'll! Hope you are having a wonderful day...still hot here in Texas though...sooo ready for FALL!

Here is the card:

Ok, my card...well...it was actually for the CAS challenge over on SCS..which was partial stamping. I stamped off the image of the flowers first, then stamped it onto the kraft cardstock, decided it was 'partial' enough so went to cutting, stamping that quote on there...liked how that looked...so decided to go on with the card, LOL! I know, I have weird thought process, haha! AND I even did the inside:

I like how all of it turned out, but it sure dont fit the CAS challenge now does it? LOL! BUT, it does fit the That's Krafty Thursday over on The Spotted Chick ...so gonna throw it in there!

Ok, off to create for our Gina K Designs monthly DT blog hop on Thursday! I'm hoping that the inspiration lightning bolt hits me in about 4 minutes!! LOL!!

Tuesday Trigger, again...me being frugal!

Well, I made this card with the left overs from the previous post, the one for the Tuesday Trigger over on Moxie Fab World...I just could not throw that gorgeous EP papers away, too much of it left, lol! Sooo...this is the outcome:

(the Tuesday Trigger pic is in the post below this one!)

I'm not QUITE sure about this one, whether I like it or not. I think what is bugging me is the fringey stuff and the bling with the sentiment of 'So Sorry' ...I think it should be something not along the lines of a sympathy card with the bling and fringe on it...kwim? oh well, posting anyways! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderfully creative week!! I'm stalking the mailman starting today...for some orders I did! :D

Tuesday Trigger...Luminous Layers

Hey ya'll!! Wow, where did this week go!?? It slipped by me that's for sure...thing is, I wasn't really doing anything, haha! Not kids, no vacation...nada...LOL! Yea, I was being lazyyy in this heat! It got down to 72 last night and I was in Heaven! Didn't last long though, back up to almost 100 today...bleh...I'm just sooo ready for Fall!

Well, In my laziness I decided to play along in this week's Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World! Here is the inspiration pic:

Gorgeous dress! And here is my creation:

I mainly focused on the many colorful layers! I cut out some circles using Echo Park's For the Record DP, then cut those in half and did the layering after distressing the edges a bit. I have another card in the works too, using the other half of the circles! I'm being frugal! LOL!

That's all of the crafty goodies today that I have done. I so appreciate you stopping by! I hope you have a wonderfully creative weekend! Now on some personal stuffs...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got 12 1/2 inches cut off of my hair!! Sandy, my hair dresser, asked me a gazillion times...'are you SURE?' LOL! And yes, I was/am. BUT...I am not liking it much at the moment. I'm not one to fuss over my hair everyday, but I want it to look good without much trouble. So I'm thinking now maybe a loose, REALLY loose curly in it...still debating that. That's one reason I havent posted any new pics of me and the new do...dont like it, lol! ...but it does feel sooo much better and I don't have to deal with LONG hair just everywhere! :D

Gina K Design August Release Inspiration Blog Hop! Day 3!!

Hey ya'll! Welcome back to our last day of the Inspiration Hops! I hope in some small way we have inspired you, that is why I love doing this so much! We have two more stamp sets to show you today. Up first is the newest set by Tami Mayberry called Gnome One Like You...this set is just too stinking cute! I love the pun sayings in this set, they crack me up!! Here is what I have for today to show you:

I made a masculine card this time! Isnt that little frog the cutest...and the saying...haha! LOVE it!

Up next is the newest One Free With Three stamp set called Various Verses...and this is one of those sets that is going to be so super handy to me! You can make really quick cards for those times you need them. Here is what I did for today:

I embossed the image panel with clear embossing powder, then stamp the image with versamark onto that. Then I used some Tim Holtz distress embossing powder and heat embossed it. It makes the image look embedded into the panel. This was a tutorial I saw over on SCS for this and so decided to try it. I really love how it turned out...the image kinda blurs on the edges, making it look like its painted to me!

Ok, ready for more awesome inspiration? Here are the links to my fellow DT. And as always, be sure to leave a comment on all blogs for your chance to win a free stamp set!! Two will be chosen!!

Gina K Design August Release Inspiration Blog Hop! Day 2!!

Howdy Ya'll and welcome back to our 2nd day of inspiration for you, using the new stamp sets from Gina K Designs!! We have two sets today to inspire you with! Up first is Melanie Muenchinger's newest set called Basket Buddies...which coordinates perfectly with her previous stamp set called Basket Blessings!! I did not use the Blessings stamp set, just used the oh so cute kitty and puppy images! Here is what I did:

How cute are those images?? This is such an adorable set for all of us and our friends who have fur babies!! Cause even if you don't have one, you know someone who does, right? I did a bit of masking and paired one of the puppies with the kitty...we had a cat and dog once that did everything together, just like best friends!! If the dog went out, the cat had to go too and stayed right by the dog outside, lol! Even would try to cover the dog's poop up outside!! ROFL! Ok..enough of that , haha! I colored my images with Prisma pencils and Gamsol this time instead of using my beloved copics! Then just did some layering is all and was done!

Ok, next up we have *Theresa Momber's newest set called Heartfelt...what gorgeous realistic images in this set! Here is what I did for today with it:

LOVE the flowers in this set and that little picket fence...LOVE that too! I did color this one with my copics..did a bit of sponging on the edges with distress inks. I cut out the bigger flowers and mounted them in front of the fence to give it more dimension. Kinda shabby/chic style I think!

I saw several tent cards in my google reader and I believe its Crazy 4 Challenges blog is the one having this type of card for a challenge this week! This is my first attempt at one and I have to say, LOVE how it turned out! It does fold flat, so would not be a big problem mailing this one either. I did some paper piecing for my trees..quick and easy! Made a frame with one of the Spellbinder's label dies and those are about the most complicated things about this card really, lol! I will be making more of these!
