CPS #233...surprise!

Hey ya'll!! And you will be surprised because I used stamps from PTI!! and not my beloved Gina K Stamps! ...I love sunflowers and when I saw the little mini set I had to get it...I can never have enough sunflower stamps!! :D Here is my card for the sketch over on The CPS Blog:

I used some of the packing stuff that came with some cardstock from PTI, the corrugated stuff there and painted it with white craft paint, did some distressing with inks and my scissors, sprayed the card base with some glimmer mist too. I probably kinda stretched the sketch a bit, but my papers just did not want to cooperate with me...wasted a whole sheet of dp tyring to get it like I wanted and then STILL didn't, lol! Here is the sketch:

Soo, hope it was a nice surprise, lol! That's all for now. I have been challenging myself lately with sketch challenges...they always seem the hardest for me to follow for some reason....what's a 'challenge' for you?

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderfully creative week!!

Sketch challenges....

Hey Ya'll!! I got a minute this Saturday morning while Blake is out of my 'junk room'...as he calls it (my craft room is what I call it, lol!) So thought I'd post this card I got done yesterday. It's for a sketch challenge over on the Moxie Fab World and this one is for the 'Shaped Sketch Challenge'...Here is my card:

This is the sketch:

I didnt do a circle shape, instead used some Spellbinders label dies and made mine with that. I might be stretching this sketch a bit, lol. I always have a hard time doing sketch challenges, but do like to do them, they just are truly a 'challenge' for me, lol!

Ok, that's all for now. Off to help put up a tent in the backyard....according to Blake, my grandson, we are sleeping in it tonight....yea...umm...I'll let you know how that one goes, hahaha! Have a wonderfully creative weekend!

Tuesday Trigger, -- Girly and Gutsy...TWO cards!!

Hey Ya'll!! I am playing along in the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World Blog again...always love the Tuesday Triggers there! And again, I have made two cards, LOL! I wasn't real crazy about the first one I did, so did another...First one made was this one:

I don't like how the image is just kinda ...blah...needs something else I believe..I do like the lower half of the card, and that was made by using one of the older CB dies and gluing them on...but see the little open space? THAT bugs me, LOL! Oh yea, I could pick apart every single one of my cards, haha! Ok, sooo, decided to try another ...and here is card #2:

I used a dp for the bottom of this one, to mimic the floor in the picture. My pink ribbon, well, I was out of it and only had this small scrap left of it that matches the pink cardstock, so couldn't tie a bow like I wanted to, lol! But of the two, this card is my favorite! :D Oh, here is the inspiration pic too so you can see where that yellow color comes from! LOL! I didn't think I would like trying to put that color in there, but I do like what it adds to it after getting it all together!

Ok, that's all for now! I got my grandson, Blake coming tomorrow evening and staying for the weekend so won't have much computer time with him around! But I just love him being here. He told him Mama..."I want to stay FIVE days then you can come get me" ...he's trying so hard to understand the concept of time...like days, hours, and such, LOL! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderfully creative weekend coming up!

Thankful for Hope

Hey ya'll!! And happy Monday to you! I made this card for the Sketch challenge over on the CPS Blog #232, this week. Here it is:

I colored the image with copics (after seeing my fellow Gina K DT, Sharon Harnist's creation) (which mine isnt anything CLOSE to her copic coloring!! LOL) on an ATC size canvas that I found at Michael's a couple of weeks ago...they had all kinda ATC sized embellies too over by the big size canvases...I picked up alot of it because they had bunches of it on clearance...I can't pass up good deals, LOL!

As I was making this, I got to thinking what I am So Thankful for today...which everyday, I try to think of at least ONE thing I am thankful for that day...and today, the first thing that popped into my head was the word 'Hope'....I am so very thankful that we have that...HOPE...it can apply to so many things!! Just think about it! :D Ok, enough deep thoughts for the day, LOL!!

That's all for today! I'm sure I'll be back later in the week with another creation for ya! HOPE to see you back here too! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Monochromatic card...it's not easy being green...

I made this card for the Monochromatic challenge over on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog this week. And every since I started doing this green card, that darn Kermit the Frog song has been stuck in my head!! MAJOR tune wedgie! LOL! I do love monochromatic cards though, takes the hard part of deciding what colors go together out of the equation, haha! Here is my card:

I didn't really color, but used inks in green tones and cardstock, so think this will still qualify....The scallop is cut out of clear acetate and then I put a bit of white stayz on ink on the edges to bring it out more. The yo-yo out of material I purchased at Michaels back in the material section. They had fat quarter squares and these little matching yo-yos already done up so I didnt have to do them myself, LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today...TGIF!! And hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
