Key Lime, Slate, Sea Glass, Tangerine Twist
Ink cubes

full size ink pads

Cardstocks AND matching envelopes!  Are you in loooove?!!  I am!  I just love new colors!  The world could use all kinds of pretty colors in it , lol! And this ink, in jet black:

It works with most of our mediums we use for coloring!  I have only used with watercolor so far and it worked fantastic!

AND FINALLY, Sandy Beach Ink in cube and full size pads!

And before I show my examples, just wanted to tell ya to be sure and comment on each blog for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Gina K. Designs!! You can check a few days after the blog hop in the Big News Forum on StampTV to see if you won!!

Ok here is my first card for today!  I THINK my favorite color out of the new bunch is the Plum Punch!  But that is subject to change at any given moment, ha!

I stamped that sentiment first and its from Emily's new set, Lettered and Lovely  The flowers are from Lisa's new set,  Hello Beautiful.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white..and the background for that was created by taking the stamp pad and squish it onto some paper!  :D  I didnt even color the flowers because I thought on this design this looked best!  Whatcha think?  I can take it...hahaha!
On this next card I used the mini stamp set, You Make Me SmileYou Make Me Smile

I just played around with some watercolors on this one.  ALMOST through it away Because Shady decided it tasted good on the edges!  So I tore the edge and thought , hey I can make this work, lol!  The new color I used on this one was the Coral Reef!  It.is.gorgeous.  But then, I'd say this about all of the inks and cardstocks!  But they ARE!    Ok next, I made a shaker card!

For this set I used Melanies' set, Pressed Flowers 2.
The panel that is holding the 'shakers' is the foil-able sheets from Thermo-Web that Gina carries in her store.  I did not foil this one, i wanted those vines to be black.  The die 'you' is cut out in 3 different colors and I offset them a bit, each color, as i glued.  The flower, I stamped it with the new Tangerine Twist ink and then colored using color pencils to do the shading with.  Super easy really!

I have several more cards, but Ill not hold you up!  haha!
You should have came from

Up first today is a new set illustrated by Gina called, "Your Make Me Smile"  Here is what I have for you today:

Well, this card is another of my booboos that I turned into a card, lol!  I was watercoloring the flowers and it just not doing right!  So i scribbled on with the watercolors, thus creating this background!  I sprinkled some water to get the white spots and the images is heat embossed in white also.  Then distressed the edges a bit, tied a bow and all done!  Easy peasy mistake made pretty!  D

Next up is a new set with new illustrator for us, Emily Schroepfer, Lettered and Lovely.  And ohhh how lovely it is!  I so envy folks who can do this writing like these stamps have!  But, since I cannot, I now have this lovely stamp set!  I LOVE love it!  here is what I have done for today:

I heat embossed the writing with some turquoise embossing powders .  It's hard to tell, but its shiny and pretty IRL, it has pretty silver carstock for the topping and scalloped bottom  and for a layer.  Really makes the colors just pop together! Love this card, the colors especially!

Ok ready for more wonderul inspiring eye candy?  I know you are!  Next up on the blog hop is the ohsoawesome

Ok, next up is a brand spanking new set by Lisa Hetrick, Hello Beautiful!  Here is my card to show today for this set:

For this card I used water color metallic inks.  And actually, since I had just gotten these in the mail, i decided to see how they looked and was doing come color blocking...decided to use it for my cards background after I doodled on the rectangles!   Here is a close up too of this to show you the shine:

Ok, up today we are showcasing a new set by Theresa Momber called Framescapes - Window of Wishes.  I am so loving these Framescapes of Theresa's!  Here is what I did for today:

I created a little view form the window!  :D  I watercolored the sky and the curtains are 'hung' from a curtain rod I made of soft flex wire(will not hurt you! ).  The curtains are paper pieced form a Gina K. designer paper.  I then colored the flowers/shelf and window frame with copics.  This reminds me of my grandma's kitchen view!  They had a farm and about all you saw out her kitchen windows were trees...and chickens, lol!  And I do plan on showing a quick tutorial on how I made the cloudy sky!  I used the best two paint brushes in the world!  :D

Ok, ready for more awesome eye candy!?  Your next hop is to

And once again, dont forget to comment!  You only have these 3 blog hop days to do so for your chance to win that gift certificate!

And if you get lost along the way, you can always go back to Gina's blog and start over!

Whats black and white....?

And READ all over?  haha!  Hi Y'all!  Glad you stopped by today!  I sure wish my posts were read all over, lol!

I was at Hobby Lobby and checking out all their clearance stuff.  I found a pencil set and purchased it for $1.75, dont know what the regular price was, but this was cheap so got it!  LOL!  Soooo I played around with the pencils and decided to do a little pictorial for ya!  Hope you enjoy!

I have used the Stippled Flowers stamp set from Gina K. Designs.  This is to show how I color using pencils and I'm using one of the leaf images from the set.  First, I stamped the leaf image onto some Gina K. 120 lb white base weight cardstock and used Memento Tuxedo Black:

Here is a picture of the pencils I used...the bottom being the lightest shade and its the one I used first:

4H, F, 5B, 8B...going from lightest to darkest from the bottom up.

Here I have used the 4H pencil, and using a very light touch to do so:

I think that is one thing that is important, using a light touch.  Because you can always go back over to make it a deeper shade.

Next, used the F pencil:

Not much difference here, but using a light touch once again to gradually build up the depth

Here I have added the 5B pencil.  It's alot darker!

And last but not least, added some of the 8B:

Mostly I added this color at the bottom of the leaf.  Another thing that I do, I make sure to follow the lines of the stamp when coloring too.

Now, I usually use a paper blending stump, just dry, no gamasol.  But I couldnt find mine, got tired of searching some brought out the big gun!
I take it and just blend the differnt shades of pencils I have laid down on the image:

Dont worry about getting out of line.  We gonna fix that here in just  a sec!  :D

Sooo next, the eraser!  And would you believe, I can't find my Tombow Mono Sand Eraser?!  Yea, you would, lol! Sooo, I used a pencil eraser!

I kinda hold the pencil at an angle and will even erase of the edges of the image I have colored to add a hightlight area on the image.

See?  no need to worry about getting out of line on this way of coloring, lol!

Here is  a picture of the flower that I did with this same method:

I used a white gel pen to add the little white dots in the middle of the flower.  But everything else is colored just as shown above.

And here is the finished card:

I used Dr. Ph Martin's Bombay inks to do a bit of splatter.  I was orginally inspired by the challenge on StampTV this month that Sheri is hosting, to make a card using black and white and one other 'pop' of color and a bow.  Well, I think mine wont 'qualify' because of the 'gray' tones the coloring with the different pencils.  LOL!  But still, that was what inspired this!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hoping I gave you some tips that might help you in your b/w coloring!  :D
