Gina K Design September Release Previews, Day 4!!!

Hey ya'll!! Welcome back to our final night of previews...which means tomorrow night, Thursday, is time for the PARTY and afterwards you can purchase these gorgeous stamps! WOOT!! Ok, we have two more sets to preview tonight...up first is Asela Hopkins' newest set called Winter Wings...this is what I did with it tonight:

I decided to try something new for me, Twinkling H2O's...and I watercolored!! I LOVe how this turned out...its one of those that you need to see IRL to appreciate the sparkly goodness! I also used Nina's Lovely Labels 2, embossed it in gold and cut it out to show that you do not have to own the label nesties that match it, still looks awesome just cutting it out! Ok, and since I was in a Christmas mood...I decided to practice making a few gifts for this year...I made some Salsa!! Here is what it looked like before decorating my little jar:

Now next I used the newest stamp set, illustrated by Gina, called Labeled With Love and added some finishing touches to my little jars of salsa...Here is how it looks now:

With just a few simple touches, just look how wonderful these looks now! ( I had to hide one in the back there...cause that bottle is EMPTY! SOMEbody ate it...) I'd love receiving something like this myself and this new set is just perfect for mass producing little gift labels, LOVE it!! Ok, ready for more eye candy?

For more samples with tonight's new stamp sets, please visit these participating designer's blog links:

The entire team would like to cordially invite each of you to our release party tomorrow night (Thursday September 30.)  We'll have contest questions, challenges, chatter, and lots of samples with the new stamp sets to share during the party. Please make plans to join us from 7-10 central on StampTV!

I have included the recipe for the salsa below here too! I appreciate everyone that has stopped by this week and am looking forward to seeing alot of you at the party tomorrow night...I'm bringing the Salsa..who's bringing the chips???!! :D

Recipe for Tomatillo Salsa (from the Food Network Magazine Sept. issue)
1 large poblano pepper, stemmed and seeded
1/2 large white onion, cut into 4 wedges
4 cloves garlic
2 1/4 lb. tomatillos, husked
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar (Ileft this out)
Kosher Salt
3 red jalapeno peppers, thinly sliced crosswise (with seeds) --I could not find any red ones around here so just used ole green ones, but removed the seeds on 2 of them.
Chopped fresh cilantro (for topping, optional) I actually put some into the salsa.

1. Sterilize your jars.
2. Preheat the broiler. Put the poblano halves skin-side up on a foil- lined broiler pan with the onion and garlic. Broil until the poblano is charred and the onion and garlic are browned, about 8 minutes. cool the poblano slightly, then peel.
3. Pulse the tomatillos in a food processor in batches untilcoarsely chopped, then transfer to a bowl. Add the poblano, onion, and garlic to the processor and pulse until coarsely chopped (do not over process). Transferto a large, wide saucepan. Add the cumin, lime juice, vinegar, sugar, and 1 tablespoon salt. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook stirring occasionally, untill slightly reduced, 3 to 4 minutes.
4. Add the tomatillos and jalapenos to the pan, cover and return to a boil. cook until heated through, 3 to 4 minutes.
5. Fill the jars with the tomatillo mixture, leaving 3/4 inch headspace. If using regular canning jars, process as if canning. I just put them into these little minature jars cause I knew they wouldnt last around here, lol!
