Gina K Design Preview Day 2, October Release!

Welcome back to day 2 of the previews! Tonight we have TWO new stamp sets to show ya! First up is Asela Hopkins' newest set called First Christmas...this one is gonna be a favorite of ALOT of folks, including ME! I was gonna show an ornament I made with this set, but I have an inkling you will see that tonight from some others, lol! Soooo, I will save mine and show you my card I made, one of them, lol! Here it is:

I just LOVE gingerbread men! I have a bunch I set out for Christmas every year, just ones I have picked up here and there at flea markets and garage sales, just ones that caught my fancy, not really worth much but I love them! So I had to color these up for my card tonight! I colored and then popped up the man one, just to give it a bit more dimension. I think this will be an awesome card for a couples first Christmas together, and I happen to know a older couple that this will be perfect for, found love late in life but they are just perfect for each other and will love this card!

Next up we have a new set by Nina Brackett called, Vintage Borders and OH my! what a fun one this one is! Even though I am only showing one card tonight, I was at first kinda stumped on this set, then the ideas starting flowing! I got plenty to show at the party Thursday too! Anyways, here is a CAS card for tonight:

Isnt this a fun looking card? I just love how this turned out myself, lol! The border of the ornaments up top was stamped in Vivid Brick ink, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used a white gel pen to highlight a few of the ornaments in spots. That big ole bow was made by some ribbon I had, did a running stitch and gathered it to make a 3-D flower, which the challenge on the JUGS blog inspired me for that one!

For even more inspiration, please visit the Illustrators of the stamp sets featured tonight:

Tonight, we have several of our Center Stage Spotlight Designers joining in the previews. Here are their blog links:

Gina K Preview Day 1, October Release!

Howdy all, and welcome once again to the most wonderful time of the month, lol! I just LOVE previews and snippets and new stuff to show and...well, you get my drift! LOL! First up tonight is the wonderful set by Melanie Muenchinger called Festive Frame...and I will tell ya, its another fun one to work with, you can go simple and just emboss OR like I have done here tonight, color! Here is my card:

This is another big stamp like the 'Arranged with Love' stamp set! And look how awesome the Oval Nestabilities go in the oval part of the stamp! how cool does that look! I paper pieced behind the oval nestie too, colored the rest of the stamp with copics, added a bit of stickles to the centers of the poinsettias and used the AWEsome Bow Easy (which will be back in stock soon!) to do my bow and added a bit of bling and was done! I LOVE how this card turned out and it was one of those that went together so quick, love that too! It helps having such awesome stamps to work with dont it?

Ok, thats all for now...I have more cards with this, but gonna save for the party THURSDAY night! I will be sure and have that link up too on Thursday!

Witch shoe! or rather shoeS!

Happy Monday ya'll! I know, not a whole lot of folks happy about it being Monday, start of the work week, but tis a good one for me...allll day to meself, lol! I thought I'd share some little witch shoes I made for my daughter to give the ladies at the bank she works at. Holli, my daughter, sent me an email with a link to SCS, asking me, 'Mom, can you make these?' LOL! WHAT she was doing on SCS, I'll never know, especially since she was suppose to be working!! Anyways, here is the link to Ellen Hutson's template on SCS:

Witch Shoe

Here are a couple of quick pics, cause I almost forgot to take picture of them and she was leaving, lol!

And one up close:

These are really quick and fun to decorate! Not alot of stamping on mine. I used my JustRite small round stamper with the super tiny alphabet to make the names of the ladies she works with, and the curlz font to write 'boo'. Then punched with SU!'s scallop punch, tied it to the bags of candy corn with some craft thread and they were done. Really cute I think! She liked them a lot and is excited to give them to her friends at work.

AND dont forget, tonight starts the previews for Gina K Designs October Release...which will be THIS Thursday! Wooohooo! I am excited to show you what I have created...and tell you what my hubby said about them...cracked me up, rofl!! Thanks for stopping by and remember, The mighty oak tree was once a nut that held its ground!! hahaha!

Well, I made this card for the color challenge on the Just Us Girls blog, but didnt get it uploaded to my site or theirs in time, lol! I am bad about that, will do challenges then forget to upload them! Here is the card though:

I used Coco from Starving Artists Doodlefactory Christmas stamps from last year that I add. Kinda fun, festive looking card I think! The colors were pure poppy, aqua mist, and vintage cream, really hard colors for me, lol!

Ok, that's all for now! We start Gina K previews on Monday, wooohooo! I already of 3 cards done, thats GOOD for me! LOL!

Warm Winter Wishes Blog Hop!

Hellooo!! And welcome to another inspiring blog hop! Tonight we are showcasing Carolyn King's newest set called Warm Winter Wishes...and once again, Cammie is donating all of her proceeds from the sale of this stamp to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of her Grandmother...how awesome is that?? Here is what I decided to do for tonights hop:

I decided to make a coaster set. I purchased these glass coasters at Hobby Lobby on clearance, I think they were about 5 bucks for them. They have an insert for a picture in them, so I colored the adorable snowman in the set and inserted him! I also added glitter for the snow...stamped some snowflakes on the glass and coaster holder with white Stayz On ink and was done! I love how this turned out too!

For even more inspiration visit Carolyn King - the Illustrator of Warm Winter Wishes and the Idea Center gallery HERE.

Then, check in with Carolyn's special guest designers:

Special Delivery and Additions Blog Hop!!

OHHH I feel sooo bad for not having my blog post up last night! But apparently my modem just up and died and of course, silly me was waiting till the last minute to do it, lol! But I wanted to get it up as soon as I could this am! These are such fantastic fun sets by Tami Mayberry! OMG the possibilities with these are just endless! Here is my card:

I stamped the image first, heat embossed it and I saw a blog post by Beate
where she did a watercolor wash and so I played around with some memento reinkers I have and did this background on watercolor paper. This is a masculine card for a good friend of mine who is turning 51 next week, thus the '51' on the stamps, lol! I really love how this turned out!

Tami Mayberry, the Illustrator of these two stamp sets has invited a couple of her friends to join in on the blog hop tonight, so click on their blog links to see the projects they've created for us tonight:

Lord of the Season Blog Hop!

Hi all and welcome to another inspiring blog hop...this time featuring Nina Brackett's newest set from Gina K Designs called Lord of the Season. I decided to use the spring topiary in the set... and go with a springy look card...I KNOW...its like wearing white after Labor Day...not suppose to...BUT I'm not known for following the rules...soo...lol! here it is:

Lots of detail on this card! I sewed in different types of stitches, popped up the greenery and the pot, LOTS of layers ....etc!! But had such fun making it, I had to stop myself though on it, haha! I didnt add a sentiment yet...cause I wanted to be able to use it for anything that might come up, and just put the sentiment on the inside.

YAY! TGIF!! Well, my hubby has been off since Wednesday though, he had an upset stomach he says, but it wasnt THAT upset...I was witness to it, lol! He could have gone to work, he just hates this job every since he took it though. I have to agree with him about it in some ways...the boss he has talks something awful, cusses like a sailor or worse! I'm not perfect, I have stumped my toe and sad a bad word myself a time or two, lol, but I'm talking filthy mouth...language I cant stand to hear in movies even....anyways...glad I dont work under him....hubby filed a complaint about 6 months ago on it, all they did was slap him on the wrist, and he didnt change a bit...his boss, slapped his boss on the wrist that is.

Hi and welcome to another awesome blog hop featuring Theresa Momber's newest set from Gina K Designs. It is such an awesome and so wonderfully illustrated! I just LOVE it! I decided to use the jingle bells image in my card tonight...here it is:

I paper pieced the bells, I actually saw some in a store that inspired me to do this! I then just colored the ribbons with copic markers. Used some foil to make the snowflake bg there and then just did some layering. Tied a bow on it and was done!

Hip To Be Square Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Hip To Be Square Blog Hop! This is Melanie's newest set from Gina K Designs. And of course, another one that has oh so many possibilities! One of the favorite ways of mine to use this stamp, the big one in it, is to make a window scene, and that is what I decided to do with my card this time:

I created a wintry scene, and hung a wreath in the window, lol! I used the tree stamp from the new StampTV kit, Holiday Cheer for my scene here..the wreath was made with a piece of chipboard and I put some paper on it, sanded the edges and wrapped some silver cording around it and hung some silver bells from the middle. Fun!

Gradient Challenge...

Well, I decided to do that challenge at Moxie Fab World , 'Gradient is Radiant'....I had fun playing with my photo corner punch, lol. Here is my card:

I just had fun with this card...one of those cards that come about by sitting at the table fiddling with all the stuff laying around actually. And see the tree trunk? That was a stick I found laying on my table too..where did it come from? WHO knows, hahaha!! I guess the card fairies thought it would look cool to use as a tree trunk, and I agree with them rofl!

Welcome to my UCD!

UCD? Ugly Card Day! LOL! I am starting a tradition on my blog today. At least once a month, and I am hoping NOT more often than that, rofl, I will post a card I made that I think is UGLY, and will not get sent or used for anything except UCD! And if you find on this day you have one of those cards too, share it with us too here on my blog! It's just for fun thing, no big prize for doing it...it's just to show even new ones that are starting, not everytime you make a card that it is gonna be drop dead gorgeous, oh so awesome creation!! Anyways, here is mine for today:

I have to admit, I do like what I did with the 'hills' on this card, but the stitching is all crooked, the sponging in green on the circle looks bad, the trees dont look right, needed a more sold tree image for stamping right there...*sighs* you see what I mean, UGLY card! LOL! Not to mention the sentiment isnt stamped dark enough...lol. I will admit too, I have 3 cards in my UCD file folder right now...one is so bad I dont know if I will ever show that one hahaha!

Ok, thats all for today! Hope you enjoyed my UCD!! LOL! Thanks for stopping by and tomorrow night, come back for a blog hop for Melanie's newest set "Hip To Be Square"!! 10pm CST!!

A sketch challenge card.

Well, I hadnt played with the 2 Sketches 4 You girls in awhile so decided to try out their challenge this week. And then after doing the card I was not going to post it because I am unsure whether I strayed a bit much or not, LOL! BUT here it is:

What's that?? You say you seeing machine sewing??? Why YES you do, rofl! This is my first card sewing with my new little Janome Mini, and I do think i am going to like using it! It is so light weight and easy to move around and with limited space like I have, it's perfect! Anyways, for this card, I sewed on a piece of material I have had since last Christmas and then I stamped the bird from the new StampTV Kit onto a piece of linen that I usually use for counted cross stitch. I used vivid ink too, and just let it dry and it didnt smear at all. I also ran it through my sticker xyron thing and mounted it onto cardstock to give it some weight to it, then cut it out with nesties. There's those gorgeous nestie fancy tags that Mel sent me again too, LOVING those so much AND that ribbon, the sheer is from Gina K Designs too, the velvet ribbon I found in a box I uncovered with all kinds of forgotten goodies in it. Stuff to use on cards AND lots of my counted cross stitch kits too! I still fiddle with that on occasion, just been awhile! I still think this card needs something, like under where the pin is, I know most of the cards in these challenges at 2Sketches usually have all kinds of embellies on them, which is hard for me to do..soo... for the life of me...dont know what to put there....a swirly something maybe? hmmmm...oh well...the challenge is closed tonight at midnight so just gonna leave this for now! LOL!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! It has turned very cool here, only got up to 56 degrees so far today! I havent turned the heat on YET...but do have a burner on the stove on, lol! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Hump day!

Yes, the week is half over now! Got past hump day! I dont have a card today, but thought I'd show you a couple of pictures. This first one is a picture I snapped of 2 little birds when it was just pouring here the other day, they were huddled together under my awning thingy and the wrought iron pole:

I thought they looked like 2 little love birds, lol! I dont know what kind of birds they were, they looks like sparrows kinda...

I thought I'd share a picture of me from high school. My class of 1979 just had their 30th reunion this past weekend. I missed out on alot of the festivities because I was in the hospital when so much of the planning and stuff was going on... reservations had to be made on the dinner and I missed going to that too BUT, one of my classmates started a website and he put all of our senior pictures on there, rofl....talk about a walk down memory lane, OMG...

I absolutely HATED these pictures! My Mom thought I HAD to get my haircut for them, and it was cut WAY too short, I had that Farrah Fawcett thing going on before it was cut, lol! AND look at them rose colored glasses!! haha! AND I had a little rhinestone flower down in the corner there too...lmao...I just looked so ....studious or something and I HATED it, rofl! Anyways, thought I'd share that...haha! It was lots of fun seeing all of us in them old pictures...the 3 piece suits the guys wore..the fros....the platform shoes, haha! and WHITE leisure suit that one had on even, rofl!!

Well, thanks for stopping by and letting me share that memory with ya! Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week...looking forward to the weekend here!

My Boo bags!

Whew! Wasnt last week fun with all the new Gina K stuff? And then I decided to give my brain a rest over the weekend, lol! And I still have so many goodies to show that I havent shown on my blog yet, but did at the release party. BUT, I really dont like showing a whole bunch at once, I think people sorta stray if too long a post, haha! Or maybe I'm telling on myself there, rofl! Anyways! LOL! Here are my little treat bags I have made up for Halloween:

These are those little brown bags you can buy at Michaels that I cut down to 4" and then used an EK Success edge punch on the top area. I used Melanie's newest set from Gina K Designs called 'Hip To Be Square'...those are the little round tag looking things on the bag! On the bags I used used the 2 different halloween sets from Gina K too (listed below in bag details). These were really super quick to make. I have about 20 of them made up to pass out to the kids so far, and will probably make about that many more before Halloween gets here. We really dont get that many kids cause we sorta at a dead end road, lol!

Ok, that's all for now! I hope you are having a wonderful week...and a happy Tuesday!

Some personal stuffs....My sister's youngest son was diagnosed with the H1N1 bug...and he has asthma, and then my grandson has the regular flu and he has asthma too...he's been coughing so hard it makes him puke when he does...but hes a puker though...one of them kids that will puke at the drop of a hat, LOL! My daughter still gets all freaked out about it though, and will call me and I just tell her to get used to him doing it, cause some kids are like that...she HATES puking more than I do I think, lol! My sisters kid is much better already though, they all got put on that Tamaflu stuff even though so far he was the only one sick with it. I WAS going to go see her this weekend, but not gonna purposely go into a house with the swine flu there, lol! I've had the regular flu shot and the pneumonia shot, but not the swine flu one yet...I dont know about getting it either...i know they are saying safe and all but its still so new....Its sure the flu weather here right now...cool, wet, and rainy last few days....im not going anywhere...LOL!
